Despite continuous efforts of the Max Planck Society to bridge humanities and sciences through interdisciplinary collaboration, many scholars working in the humanities & social sciences identify differences between them and fellow researchers in natural- and life sciences, especially in terms of research methods and procedures, but also regarding prospective career opportunities.

The Humanities & Social Sciences Network addresses the specific needs of these fellow researchers and allows them to share experiences, difficulties and visions. The aim is to build a solid network that connects Max Planck alumni with current graduate students and researchers, facilitating career development within and outside of academia.

An initial meeting of the Humanities & Social Sciences Network is planned for the next MPAA Symposium in 2018.
